This is really a record of the author's enormous collection of canes from the United States and Europe, mainly. There are literally hundreds of photographs with quite helpful descriptions of all sorts of canes, swordsticks, crooks and gadget canes and a moderately interesting accopunt of the author's experiences as a collector. It is not an organised reference book on the history, techniques and background to canes and walking sticks and I thought the text was not very organised.
