This book brings to our attention how important celibacy is - usually practiced within a strong Christian faith, guided by the Holy Spirit, usually, but not always early on in life. This point being agreed, there is nowdays hardly any environment for young people to discover and go deeply into possible dedication, as and when vocation comes to them. They may be few in number, but they are a vital few. Too many people come by many means into sexual activity, the importance and orientation of which is distorted, when they have no knowledge or experience of the alternative of giving themselves entirely to the service of God in support of, but not as part of family life as most of us know it. Their disciplines and joy should be taught within the religious studies of every school.
