I was disappointed in this book. I have read all of Cooper's past works, and was expecting his usual wit and wisdom. Absent were his usual tales of combat and marksmanship, except for a few remarks about what good shots his daughter and granddaughter are.
There are no Cooper recommendations, or discussions of appropriate rifles/calibers or tactics for different situations. This book covers basic marksmanship. You can get that in any number of "Introduction To Shooting" type of books. Really. It covers shooting positions, hold, breathing and trigger control. I was disappointed in the total lack of information about estimating range, trajectory, etc., that I have found in the cheapo basic books.
I am not sure how Cooper justified selling this work as covering what is becoming a lost art, as there are tons of books out there that cover the same subject more thoroughly. If you are a Cooper fan, or just looking for a book on marksmanship, pass on this one. Cooper has let us down.
