Seller's Description:
Small 4to. Full leatherette, pictorial dust jacket. 130pp. Illustrations. Near fine/near fine. Tight, attractive first edition of this history of the important Colorado River crossing site in Arizona near the Utah border, first established by noted Mormon settler John D. Lee. Measeles signs the title page large and bold in black fineline and also inscribes and signs the half-title page: "Inscribed for / Paul and Judy Moriarty, / With warm good / wishes from / Evelyn / Winter, 1982." Laid in is an Autograph Note Signed from Measeles on a 5½" X 4¼" black and white greeting card featuring cover art ("Taos Pueblo Church") by the author's husband Robert, dated Valentine's Day 1982 from Santa Fe, New Mexico. Friendly note to a Miss Kennedy thanking her "for braving the snowy day to come to the party....It was a real up day for me and it was made happier by having people I like there to share it with me. I really appreciate your support of me and of the book...." Fine.
