George Higgins helped Dan Onion to write the emergency chapter in his Primary Care book and is thus intimately knowledgeable about philosophy, format, etc., and has a jump start on writing the material. Dr Higgins will develop the Little Black Book of Emergency Medicine on the model of the other books in the series. He should have the work complete in about a year. There are a number of competing handbooks, although none as concise as the LBBs or containing features like the books' internal references.
