'My name is August. I won't describe to you what I look like. Whatever you're thinking, it's probably worse.' Ten-year-old August Pullman wants to be ordinary. He does ordinary things. He eats ice-cream. He plays on his Xbox. He feels ordinary - inside. But Auggie is far from ordinary. Born with a terrible facial abnormality, he has been home-schooled by his parents his entire life, in an attempt to protect him from the cruelty of the outside world. Now, Auggie's parents are sending him to a real school. Can he convince his new classmates that he's just like them, underneath it all? Narrated by Auggie and the people around him whose lives he touches, Wonder is a frank, funny, astonishingly moving debut to be read in one sitting, pass on to others, and remember long after the final page.

My son needed to read this book for school. It was in such demand from the local library I bought a copy so I could also read it. It was such a great story and a flowy efficient read. I recommend it to any parent/child ages 10 and up. Excellent subject matter.

Knowledge can dissolve fear!!!
This is a awesome book. I recommend getting it for your children and reading it together. Different in today's world is discouraged. Different by birth can be terrible unless you have wise parents. My 4th grade granddaughter is reading this and she is engrossed! I also recommend 365 Days of Wonder. Enjoy!!!

Wonder is a MUST READ
One of the most enjoyable, thought provoking and important reads for adults and particularly children. The book's seemingly simple structure, the children's perspective and vivid imagery that's conjured up make this such an easy and engaging read. There is just so much to get out of this book and the emotional journey is thrilling...I've cried on the tube, wanted to jump up and cheer at points and haven't forgotten one of the characters since reading it. All probably sounds OTT but really a fantastic read...thank you RJ Palacio!
