Seller's Description:
Very Good+ 4to-over 9¾"-12" tall. Minor edge and corner wear, lightly scuffed and scratched, overall a very crisp and clean first edition! 102 very fine, historical, uncreased and unmarked pages wonderfully enhanced by black and white photographs! "On Monday, July 24, 1893, the granite walls for the "new Library of Congress" were rising steadily on Capitol Hill. Some 200 men were plying their various building trades on the 10.5 acre site. In different parts of the Nation, another 300 were preparing iron or marble or brick or other components under contracts for the 3.5 acre structure. The exterior walls at the building's perimeter were nearing the top of the third story above ground, and coppering on the dome over the central rotunda was well along."
