I finished the story in an hour or two (I'm a fast reader). My only complaint was that the end felt a little drawn out. When I felt, pacing wise, that the story was over the plot had one more event to play out. All in all it was a satisfying read but I feel that it should have ended a little earlier. I also wished that we could have spent more time if possible with Anne's clan. If you're used to reading about the Scottish people and don't mind a bit of traditional jargon then this story might be right for you. It's a cute tale that deals with the struggles of finding and keeping faith in a time where a man's future could change almost instantly.
