Black buckram binding with gilt to spine has some light white smudges at top edge, text fore-edge has some small stains which did not migrate, first blank has old erasures and a stroke of faint red pencil, text itself is clean and nice. Includes a facsimile of the original Anglo-Saxon manuscript pages of both Swithun and St. Maria, then the Anglo-Saxon text with a facing literal English translation, a lengthy essay on the life and times of Swithun with a shorter essay on Maria. The "illustrative pieces" on Swithun are primarily in Latin, with English notes, although a few are in English or Anglo-Saxon.; Folio-over 12"-15" tall.
