RL Stine is a literary genius when it comes to imaginative and just plain cool pieces for children to fuel their growing minds...
This book just exemplifies this. Two kids, a mother gone away, and a scientist father with a secret. Something's going on downstairs in their father's locked up lab downstairs in the basement... something involving human-like plants with minds of their own.
I'd recommend this for kids and young adults alike... go venture off into the unknown with the protagonists. You may be in for a surprise!

Goosebumps
Invasion of the body snatchers meets swampthing comes to mind when reading this twisted tale. The kids know one of the things isn't their father, but which one? This is a clever an thought provoking children's story. It stresses the importance of parents and children spending enough time together.
