This book is short, and geared towards the 6-10 year old group. But right now my almost-4 year old son and I enjoy it for the dragons, the castles, and the sense of quirky cleverness Princess Elizabeth employs to rescue Prince Ronald. The ending gives my son and I a chance to talk about what matters more: Elizabeth's lack of princess clothes (the paper bag), or Prince Ronald's reaction to being rescued! Munsch's love of a story told for fun and a twist into the unexpected is not to be missed...check out his other books, too....Martchenko's paintings also show his own sense of fun with his work...
