Very Good + in Very Good + jacket. Imperial Octavo. 238 pp. Dark navy cloth boards with gold lettering on the front and spine; flag design on front and Fordham University's crest on spine. The slightest of wear to the extremities and subtle creasing to the bottom of spine, otherwise fine. Endpapers feature an attractive image from Harper's Weekly, collection of Lucius Beebe. Unclipped jacket features a painting of a steamboat by William G. Muller; back gives information on another publication by Fordham University Press. Flaps give information about the book and author. Small rip to top of front cover, some very minute creasing and very faint discoloration to top. Pages are clean and bright without markings. Textblock has a very slight downward lean. Contains 260 historic photographs, maps, appendix, index, fleet lists memorabilia, and personnel rosters.
