In the aftermath of germ and nuclear warfare, of plague and pillage and bloody anarchy, the fate of a divided world hangs by a slender thread. Ben Raines and his SUSA Rebels are on one side and the enemies of freedom are on the other. But Ben Raines has sworn to make the dream of government by the people a reality. A fan of Johnstone but this disappoints - 15 years after combined nuclear total war and disease/mutant plagues, only a percent or two of population left, but the hero can maneuver tanks and equipment thousands of miles over broken roads and through destroyed towns with no worry about fuel? Ditto on personnel and supplies - move almost instantly for long distances along broken roads. Lots of action, lots of rape/torture, but short on reality. Look elsewhere for realistic End of the World stories, which face real situations.

daddy's little girl
I bought this book for my father for Father's Day. He said he could not find this book anywhere. I was glad to find it and he enjoyed it very much. He enjoys westerns and has read all the Louis Lamour books and has now switched to William W. Johnstone.
