This is a superb Holmes story. Millett is an unknown but excellent writer and has the "Holmes background" necessary to make the story sound original. He has done his research and is talented with the utilization of colorful and vivid descriptives, which often include witty sarcasm or irony. The characters are very good and the plot is excellent.
