The funniest was another Donald Westlake book in the same series, "Drowned Hopes".
These are so good that if you were to read them on a NYC subway at two in the morning, you'd still be laughing out loud!
"Why Me" will introduce you to the weird and wonderful world of John Dortmunder and his felonius friends from the back room of the O.J. Bar and Grill on Amsterdam Ave., New York City. If Dortmunder had any luck at all, it wouldn't be good. Still, after incredibly devious and complex tricks of fate, he always seems to land on his feet... sort of. You'll love all of this crew.
Technology has kind of passed this book by, but its descriptions (the FBI talking into their micrphones concealed in ice cream cones is one of my favorites) are hysterical AND spot on.
READ THIS BOOK. For that matter, read all of Donald Westlake's Dortmunder books. You'll be hooked.
