I read this book when I was in 8th grade and doing a unit on the Holocaust. If I have to teach my students about the Holocaust in the future, it is a book that I plan on using. The language was easy to understand. And while this book is a fiction book, it portrays a nonfiction story. You can tell that it is something that would/could have really happened.
