When the Legends Die
Betrayed by his own people and forced to live in an English school where he is shamed and ridiculed, the Native American Ute boy Bear's Brother grows into the man Tom Black. Full of bitterness against men, he vents his pain on wild broncos, becoming a well known and almost feared bronco rider. Traveling widely on rodeo circuits, he does everything he can to drive away people and any association with his past. But no matter how far he runs, he can never entirely forget the heritage he was made to abandon. A very good read, full of the sights and sounds of the Southwest.
