OTTO CARIUS WAS A STUD, BUT NOT A PARTICULARLY STUDLY KIND OF GUY. HIS COUNTRY WAS AT WAR, AND ALTHOUGH I DON'T BELIEVE HE WAS EVER A NAZI NOR BELIEVED IN ANY OF THEIR PROPAGANDA OR PROGRAMS (POGROMS), HE WAS COMMITTED TO DEFENDING HIS COUNTRY AND SERVING IN THEIR ARMED FORCES TILL THE END. HE WAS NOT PHYSICALLY IMPOSING BUT HAD A BIG BRAIN AND A BIG HEART; YOU CAN GO A LONG WAY AND DO A LOT OF DAMAGE ON JUST THOSE TWO THINGS, AS HIS WARTIME EXPLOITS EXEMPLIFY. HE WAS WOUNDED MANY TIMES BUT NOT KILLED, SO RETURNED TO BATTLE EACH TIME UNTIL THE END OF THE WAR. I ENJOYED READING ABOUT HIM AND I VERY MUCH RESPECT THE MAN AND SOLDIER HE WAS.
