I would've liked a little more meat to each period adventure but enough is given to be a breezy read and often more than enjoyable and dreamy. The conclusion brings it home with a very nice little nugget of well-placed commentary and a hopeful and skillfully handled wink (no puns intended). Early Alexander which shows him gaining speed and doing so in style! ****
