This funny, quirky uneven novel populated by funny, quirky uneven characters is worth a read. There are many great scenes and descriptions of the Modern West, snappy dialogue and warped humor. Halfway through, I thought I might be reading a classic, but the book doesn?t quite hold together and loses some of the emotional momentum it builds. Never-the less, I would recommend this to anyone who lives in the west and has a sense of humor.
