So it was that I heard the accounts of the hunts, Sandoz recalls. Of the fights with the cattlemen and the sheepmen, of the tragic scarcity of women, when a man had to 'marry anything that got off the train, ' of the droughts, the storms, the wind, and isolation. This is an excellent book on the life of a man, all the problems of starting a life in the pioneer days. How hard it was to get a farm started how hard it was to do anything. From starting to first plow the ground to trying to feed your family, or cloth them. I would recommend this book to everyone. I loved it.
