I am reading the 18th novel by Archer Mayor. Some of what I read was exciting, but he has a few clunkers along the way, and "The Second Mouse" is one of these. I feel as though he tried to pack in a dozen ideas for a dozen books but decided to incorporate them into one novel. There is also the first contrived sex scenes, which, ordinarily I like if well done; Mayor misses the mark here. I cannot almost feel a publisher's editor breathing down Mayor's neck to get a novel out of him. This novel has few (if any) saving graces--skip it entirely.
