This is unlike the humor that is typical of Barry. While the story is well constructed, it's complicated enough that I would have had to read it twice to fully appreciate. The problem with that was that the story uses language that I'd rather not read and shows the dark side of people that I'd rather not see, so I threw it away rather than subject someone else to that tenor.
