The second book in this series was equally good. Just reading about what this daughter went thro in the war torn countries, fleeing from the Japanese, and the sacrifice she made for her husband. Such a heartwarming story about the war and the lives of those who suffered at the hands of the enemy. Would recommend this book highly.

Excellent Series: Daughter of Fortune
This series of books (4) were so engrossing. You felt the dank and oppressive communist control to the malaria ridden war torn islands to the detainment camps of American-Japanese citizens after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. A great lesson in history and the effects on the human relationships. Highly recommended.
