I was interested from page 1 and kept my interest refardless of the fact that I figured out the murderer fairly early on. I was so engrossed that by the time they first mentioned Instpector Alleyn I had forgotten that it was an Inspector Alleyn mystery! Good descriptions of goings on, believeable dialogue, lots of intrique, everyone has a motive, snow storm etc. Great book to read by the fire!
