I have been a fan of Michael Connelly's for a long time. This standalone was different, and I enjoyed it very much. Highly recommended.

Very entertaining
Typical of what I've come to expect from Michael Connelly. Gripping, well-developed story and characters. Enjoyable reading from start to finish.

Good But Slow Start
This is an early non Harry Bosch Connelly book. It started slow and a bit uneven but picked up and finished well. It had some typical Connelly moves in it, like giving you just a piece of the story and given you more and more as the book goes on. Overall it was well done and it was nice to see two characters used in a later Bosh book, one minor character and the other miniscule.
