Ms. Heyer uses two of her character types to create a charming adventure tale. She seems to feel that exposure to the raffish life of the continent as opposed to the raffish life in England makes Englishmen very unenglish. The contrast between Prudence and Robins' father and Sir Anthony lends interest to the book and the plot is amusing.
