Diana Norman is the best!
Any book by this author (who also writes as Ariana Franklin, although those have a little different feel...still very good) is a guaranteed interesting read. Not a by-the-numbers writer, Ms. Norman turns a phrase, paints believable--and real, warts and all--characters, and deftly weaves in historical information...so the reader focuses on and enjoys the human interplay. A true gem...and the prices on her out-of-publication books generally prove this.
