We loved reading about Spot's Baby Sister. Spot seems to have the same feelings that children do and he can express them. Of course the children always love lift-the-flap books.
I have found that it is helpful to tape the flaps on the top and bottom before we read lift-the-flap books so they don't get torn with repeated readings (like 2 or 3 times every day!!)
