The author gives great insight and comparison into the life of a sheep and human situations. So helpful and wise. I'll never read the 23rd Psalm the same again. Giving it as Christmas presents for my family and friends.

Thou Shalt Not Kill!
I was getting into this book until the author, a real sheep farmer, told of how he had to kill a sheep who wandered off of his property and crossed a fence to some other land.
He said he had to kill the animal to prevent others from following her example.
That was when I put down the book.
I don't think I'd want that image to stay with me wen I view and say the Psalm 23 in the future. Yes, I "will fear o ma" but for Christ sake, I don't want to fear the little sheep who might transgress and must face the death penalty!

The book was listed as new but when I received it there was an inscription written on the first page. So not new, was a bit disappointing as I was giving it as a gift. However, I have a copy myself and it's an excellent read.

Shelpherds looks at psalm 23
A deeper look in to God's Word regarding the comparison of sheep and God's people. How we are like sheep. Painfully insightful, convicting and life changing. If I were on a desert island by my self and could take only one book aside from the Bible, this would be it.

He is the owner who delights in his flock?
This was a wonderful, inspirational book!! I could recommend it to anyone I know. The author, Phillip Keller, wholeheartedly sets out to completely make you understand what each part of Psalm 23 truly means. That passage of scripture is one that we all know by heart, but after reading this book you'll view those 6 verses in a whole new light.
* It reminded me that I belong to Him, even with my sinful downfalls.
* It made me think about how we really are like sheep, trustfully following our Shepherd.
* It taught me to keep pursuing after God's will and to forget my own.
* It made me realize that I am part of His flock, and even when bad times come, He'll always be there to rescue me.
You'll be amazed at how this sheep farmer writes a book to tell you how much like a sheep that you are. I learned many new things about sheep in this book, and loved that part of the spectrum. Excellent choice of book for anyone who is interested!
