The book has plenty of colour and B&W reproductions of Cubist paintings and sculptures, and gives a good history of the movement. On the plus side it mentions Georges Braque positively a lot. It contains many descriptions of works too.
On the negative side, Cooper has a very narrow idea of Cubism, and tends to berate a lot of Cubist works as ?not really Cubist?. Other works of a similar fashion by Picasso, Braque, Léger, or Gris are simply noted as ?Cubist in spirit?. Also, descriptions of works do not necessarily contain much analysis either.
