Quite a helpful book, though the copy I got was a bit out of date, in particular the writers attitude to modern technology such as computers, though really useful as they are, paper, pens & pencils are better for site work. The book offers basic techniques that are useful in mastering, the obvious is not always eh obvious. All sites are different, this book gives a framework to lean on whilst one learns the specifics of individual digs. I bought this book primarily because of the price, on saying that it has been useful & informative.
