Another slice in Betty MacDonald's life
I originally read Onions in the Stew when I was in college. MacDonald's ability to draw the reader into her world is delightful. The humor is often at the expense of turmoil and strife but it's that kind of tenacity that builds character. And Betty MacDonald has plenty to keep us all laughing and worrying and wondering as we navigate the choppy waters of her life on Vashon Island.
Buy it and read it - you'll get a kick out of it for sure.
