It's all here-the good, the bad, the beautiful, the ugly, the lucky breaks, and the heartbreaking failures. Desiderio Alberto Arnaz y de Acha III (March 2, 1917 — December 2, 1986), better known as Desi Arnaz or Desi Arnaz, Sr., was a Cuban-born American musician, actor, television producer, writer and director. He is best remembered for his role as Ricky Ricardo on the American television series sitcom I Love Lucy, starring with Lucille Ball, to whom he was married at the time. Arnaz was also internationally renowned for leading his Latin music band, the Desi Arnaz Orchestra. He and Ball are generally credited as the inventors of the rerun in connection with I Love Lucy.; 8vo 8"-9" tall; 322 pages; Signed by Author.
I love Lucy and I collect books about her. I have her autobiography and I have read Desi's so it seemed fitting that I get it since it has a lot to do with Lucille Ball. A Book is well-written and Desi has really allowed the reader to get to know him and maybe to understand him and why he was the way he was. I love the book and I recommend that you get it and get to know this brilliant but usually passed over Hollywood icon who came to America dirt-poor, cleaning bird cages in a filthy warehouse and then became a star on the number one TV show and a multimillionaire studio owner. He was one smart man, inventive, and he could get any job done that he wanted to do. I am glad he wrote the book, just as I am glad that Lucy wrote hers.
