Programming concepts are explained along with details of the C language; the book does not assume that you are a professional programmer. Many short, easily typed examples illustrate just one or two concepts at a time, since learning by doing is one of the most effective ways to master new information. Finally, review questions and programming exercises at the end of each chapter punctuate the most critical information and help readers digest the most difficult concepts. If you want to know what I mean with the "programmer's bible" please read my review on "The C Programming Language (ANSI Edition)". Well, with that said you might ask my why I say it's the perfect companion to the "bible". While the "bible" teaches you C this book also teaches you some techniques, tricks and gives you some excellent practical examples. Stephen Prata knows really much about what it is to be a programmer and wants to teach you what you should do on certain situations... and he does that very well. The book might seem big, but every bit is useful. Some people even think it's a better book to start with than the "bible". Conclusion: It's an absolute "must".
