Simply and clearly written;Monkeys is a family saga with out all the extra frills that usually make books of this genre so long. The characters are well developed and elicit the reader's sympathy easily.Although the family in the story are wealthy and privileged, they are like any other family. This can be a sobering concept for some of who might envy their lifestyle.I enjoyed Susan Minot's story and look forward to reading more.
