Fine bit of fluff...
For those not wanting to contemplate twists and turns (while this has some) with a level head (as is needed in many Howard books), this is an entertaining book. The story is thin, but works for its purpose. Entertainment for pure reading pleasure, the plot is discerned early on and the storyline follows with little guessing involved. But, a fast and entertaining read - it WORKS. Easily read in one sitting, the main characters are loveable and the idea that neither is a cop, cia or other type agent make the story a nice change from some of the heavier Howard's plots. This is a great book to pass among friends. A second read is not necessary (as some of her books are just that good) - but a first is highly recommended.
