The early stages of stroke recovery can seem like climbing a mountain all day, every day, but it does get easier as the days, weeks, months and years march on. I can see, I can speak, I can read and write, I can walk (albeit in a clumsy fashion) and, from time to time with some pain, especially when my muscles aren't cooperating with my bones. I decided to write this book on a lovely winter day while out with my support worker. I thought to myself The Winter Sun would make a good title for a book and would nicely describe how I felt about my recovery - the good and the bad, the incredible highs and the soul-destroying lows. I thought this book may help others in their own recovery. I have researched as many ways as possible to speed up my recovery. Some of these methods are a little 'out of the box' but there are more conventional methods that I swear by. I hope that my experiences will allow others to help themselves and/or loved ones achieve the best results by making their daily workouts varied, enjoyable and effective.
