The increasingly common techniques of embryo transfer and artificial insemination are explained and discussed. Chapters of particular interest in this updated edition discuss how to select the right mare and stallion, looking at conformation, breeds forvarious disciplines, action and temperament and other factors which must be considered if the breeder is to enhance his or her chances of breeding correct stock. A new chapter also examines young stock production and management, including housing, feeding, marketing and production for sale.
