I am an elementary education major and will be taking a children's literature course in the Fall. Seedfolks was one of the only books on the list that I have not read yet AND I'M REALLY GLAD IT WAS! Being appropriate for children from about 4th grade to 6th, it was obviously an easy read. I zipped through it in about an hour...I just couldn't put it down. Fleischman's unique writing style totally makes the book. Each chapter is from another character's point of view, making it captivating when you figure out how all of their stories come together. That's all I'm giving away.
As a child I absolutely hated to read, but I bet I would have loved this one if I got my hands on it. It was truly inspiring. I am very excited about sharing Seedfolks with my future students.
I know you won't understand this if you have not read the book, but I HAVE STARTED A GARDEN OF MY OWN...and I am sure you will want to do the same.
