Changed My Young Life
I read this book as a young girl of maybe about 8 or so. I thought the cover looked interesting in the library and it came with a casette that covered part of the book and then you could read the rest if you got interested in it. The cover design was a previous one with a young boy looking at an old man who had a chicken under his hat. I am so fortunate that the wonderful illustration got my attention. Because this book changed my life. I remember feeling so connected with the main character. The plot was so imaginative and fun, it was both unique and like something I would have dreamed up. To this day, I LOVE this book. And, I plan on reading it to my little ones. I hope that they like it as much as I have. I can't say enough good things about this one. I have since read many Pinkwater books and I love them all. But, this will always be my favorite because it changed the way I thought about reading and writing forever.
