Tasteful handling of war and forgiveness
Originally published as The Silver Sword, this was one of my favorite childhood books in the Fifties. Exciting and adventuresome, it deals with the awfulness of war but in a way suitable for the youthful reader, leaving the reader both grateful for peace and moved to work towards reconciliation with others. A fine book for the ten to twelve-year old.
