Deep in the forest of Verinaul, the World of Animals, Hero, the son of the famous wolf, Serval Red Eyes, is born. After his mother's death, Hero is raised by his father, Fergath, leader of the pack. Hero is destined to follow in his father's footsteps and become Leader, an honor he does not want. He prefers spending his time with Nakoomu, the beautiful white wolf and his choice for his future mate. However, when Fergath forbids the love between the two wolves, Hero abandons the pack and disappears into the wilderness. Eight years pass and a storm begins, the storm all Verinaul had been dreading-The Storm of Endless Tears, which according to legend will destroy all of Verinaul. It is up to Hero, known as Lone Wolf, to go to Nazberath, the Human World, to end the turmoil there and, thus, save both worlds. Only when Nazberath finds peace will the Storm of Endless Tears end. Hero travels to Nazberath to stop the evil, and he must cope with transforming into a human, avoiding danger and preventing a war. Hero tackles the seemingly impossible tasks with the help of three friends: Jacquelyn, his first human friend; Merrick, a mysterious man from Carthafell; and Jeru, another former wolf. The Storm of Endless Tears is the first in a series recounting Hero's quest to save both worlds from destruction.
