Nothing to Worry About
When you read about Reacher, you don't feel tension about his survival---you know that what ever happens he will deal with it. Maybe an ancillary character will get bruised or even killed off, but mainly it is the bad guys who get broken up. Finding out how Child gets his man out of the pickle, and finding the inside dope on how some things work is part of the fun, as is watching the quirky plot unfold. The Nobel Prize Committee members probably read Reacher, they just won't admit it, He is much too enjoyable to pass up.

Feel like you know him.
The world of Jack Reacher builds with each book and keeps your interest right to the last page. Yes, he is arrogant and seems to write his own laws at times, but that said, he is always on the side of right. I don't want to be "Reacher" because I couldn't live like that, but I do want his brain for working out situations. I dread the day when there will be no more "Reacher" books to read.
