Normally in children's book the star merely visits the doctor, but here George not only stays in the hospital, he has to have surgery. George mistakens a pzzle peice for food and swallows it whole. Everyone can see the puzzle peice in the X-ray after George complains about a tummy ache. Amazingly the puzzle peice is removed sill intacted and George can finish his puzzle.
The book is neat, because it shows a pleasant hospital stay. George has his blood pressure taken by kind nurses and after he feels better he causes all sorts of silly trouble. He's clearly staying in the children's ward.
Despite some problems with reality, such as the indestructable puzzle peice and George visiting a doctor rather than a vet, the book is well done. Entertaining with tons of silly pictures. This book is great for a child who might have to stay in the hospital.
