Otherwise, a very good to near fine copy-clean, bright and unmarked-in a like dust jacket which is nicely preserved and displayed in a clear archival Brodart sleeve. ~III~ [2.0P] The translated memoirs of Josep Trueta (1897-1977), a Catalan surgeon and researcher from Spain who made his home in Oxford and contributed greatly to the treatment of wounds and to orthopedic surgery. gained his field and clinical experience in the Spanish civil war (1936-1939) and in Britain during World War II. As part of his major contribution to traumatology, he searched for the causes of the characteristic oliguria of combat casualties. Trueta discovered in the early 40s the circulatory component of acute renal failure as part of his monumental contribution to military medicine.
