Good Book
Even though it is a sequel, a person could fully enjoy this book without ever reading A Separate Peace, the book that came before it. The setting and themes are the only things that carry over.
The story takes place at Devon, an all-boys prep school in New England, post WWII. One of the main characters is a man who fought in the war and returned to teach at his alma matter. His perspectives of life after the war as a soldier and POW are juxtaposed with those of the boys who never fought.
It addresses what makes a hero, what makes a villain, and the concept of a war to end all wars. It?s very good, I recommend it.
