I've read Grants memoirs, a split bio of Lee and Grant so I had some understand of US Grant. It was well written, not hard to read like some bio's are, and you learn about Grant. He knew he had a drinking problem and did his best to deal with it, and it also goes into detail about the slave that was given to him and how he freed him. I did like how he delt with President Lincoln, and to find out how, read the book.
