Excerpt from The Ideal of a Christian Church: Considered in Comparison With Existing Practice Containing a Defence of Certain Articles in the British Critic in Replay to Remarks on Them in Mr. Palmer's 'Narrative' IN the Preface to the First Edition of the following work, I apologised for the irregularity of its structure, and the admixture of temporary and accidental matter with the general statement of principles.
