The book is thick like a Bible due its paper...The content is ok and review recent studies on organizational psychology. The new edition add some new findings on some subjects such as team effectiveness but overlook all that are not include within the scientist-practioner approach on organizational psychology.
So far is better than Paul E. Spector "Industrial and Organizational Psychology.Research and Practice." Jex and Britt (2008) second edition tried hard to dismiss Organizational Behavior but fail: organizational psychology is about business organizations and how push employees to work hard for profit but the authors insist on theory and collection of findings that confirm how hard organizational psychologists could help employee's well being within organizations... Social psychology is more suitable and better on theory...
In any case, the book is well organized and easy to follow and the authors looks well in describing their accomplishment as organizational psychologists...If you have to study a course on O/I you will need another textbook on Organizational Behavior such as Organizational Behavior by Stephen Robbins or Essentials of Organizational Behavior; Human Learning by Terry Scott and Social Beings by S. Fiske, otherwise, you just will be reading "Bambi"...
